DIY: Cold Remedies
4:01 PMHere in Utah we are sick. Both of the divas have been suffering through pretty miserable colds. Sadly even the diva children have gotten sick. Poor babies. On our quest for getting better we have been doing a few diy cold remedies.
#1 Sipping warm Honey and Lemon
8oz water
about a 1-2 T Honey
about 1-2 T Lemon Juice
a pinch of cayenne pepper
warm in the microwave for about 1 min or until nice and warm
#2 Rubbing our feet with Vicks Vapor Rub to stop coughing at night
Your hubby can help with this :)
Rub Vicks Vapor Rub on the bottom of your feet
Place socks on to seal in the Vicks
Supposedly the pores in the bottom of your feet will absorb the oils more quickly than any other part of your body.
Do you have some good DIY Cold Remedies? We would LOVE to hear from you and are willing to try just about anything to get feeling better again!!!

This will not taste good @ all, try chopping up 1 small clove of garlic and adding it into a shot glass then squeeze 1 lime into the shot glass.Have another glass of water next to it. Mix the garlic and lime juice mixture and then drink followed by the glass of water. Since it is all natural u can do this constantly all day. I had a cold starting on Friday night n by Monday it was gone. i did this about four times a day. i also carried mints with me to keep by breath from stinking.
ReplyDeleteThe honey/lemon recipe is an old favorite of mine! It's so soothing for the throat.
ReplyDeleteMy grandmother always said, put vicks on the feet...I still do ;)
ReplyDeleteMake a tea out of fresh ginger, let it cool a little bit, squeeze a lemon and put the juice and some honey to the ginger tea. It works !

I read somewhere that rubbing 4-6 drops of Eucalyptus Oil (you can get it at GNC or other health food store) on the soles of your feet will make you stop coughing. Like the Vicks remedy, but less messy.

ReplyDelete4 drops of oil of oregano under the tounge supposedly helps to shorten colds if you take it at the start!
